Life Drawing Classes

Initially, The Loft Collective planned to launch life drawing classes at its studio in Saltcoats. However, as the team was still settling into the area after moving from London, and the space itself was being organised, it was decided to postpone welcoming students into the private studio until the environment was fully prepared. These classes remain a key part of future plans.

Repurposing Art Workshops

Another initiative, repurposing art workshops using found objects from the beach—such as shells and pebbles—was intended to complement the community beach cleanups, allowing participants to create collages and everyday items while promoting recycling and sustainability. This project was also put on hold due to the lack of funding at the time.

Online Art & Mental Health

While The Loft Collective is still building the resources to fully develop its programmes, the team has been sharing art initiatives via social media and free channels to explore the connections between creativity, mental health, and learning. A series of online life sessions were launched on TikTok and later documented on YouTube, beginning with sketchbooking, which supports both personal wellbeing and preparation for fine arts education entry. The sessions later expanded to include activities such as colouring for mental health, helping participants cultivate mindfulness and creative confidence.

Creative Products & Fundraising

Plans are underway to create Saltcoats-themed postcards and calendars for 2026, which will be available for sale to support the collective’s wider programmes. In addition, The Loft Collective is developing handmade artistic products for sale on Vinted, including painted stones and home decorations, which are available through the collective’s Vinted store. These initiatives provide a creative way to raise funds and help grow the collective’s work.
