What is that? This is a tablet!, 2020
It was interesting to observe how Martin behaved when let out of his cage and allowed into the house. He was curious, like a little child, and attention-seeking. He wanted to touch everything, smell everything, was fascinated with new objects and enjoyed exploring new spaces.
The gap between Agnes' leg and the seatie was like a tunnel full of mysteries. Narrow spaces behind the bed were his hideouts. Whenever furniture was rearranged in the house, he would react to it the same way as if we did if buildings or streets were moved in our world: with a bit of a disaproval and a lot of excitement.
In the summer of 2020 Agnes drew a series of illustrations depicting her growing bond with Martin. It has been decided early on to use a narrowed down palette with only 4 main colours (red, yellow, blue, green) plus black and white.
Agnes worked as a cartoonist before and was known for her unique style and publications in the press. She decided to carry on some of the elements of her previous work while developing a new, softer approach.
